Frequently asked quesitons

Got questions? Good.

We'd rather you ask before the project starts than wonder halfway through. Here's what homeowners ask us most.
About Timberbrook

Who we are.

What makes Timberbrook different from larger builders?

You work directly with the owners — not a project manager juggling 20 jobs. We don't have production quotas. We take on projects we can do well, and we build homes we'd be proud to live in ourselves.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Timberbrook Builders is fully licensed and insured in the state of Iowa. We're happy to provide documentation before any project begins — just ask.

How do I get in touch?

The easiest way is to request a quote on our site. You can also call Tyler directly at (515) 450-6416 or email tyler@timberbrookbuilders.com.

Where does Timberbrook work?

Timberbrook serves central Iowa, including Ankeny, Des Moines, Waukee, Johnston, Altoona, and surrounding communities. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, call us at (515) 450-6416 — it's the fastest way to find out.

Who is Timberbrook Builders?

Timberbrook Builders is a husband-and-wife-owned residential construction company in central Iowa. Tyler Wrabek leads the builds with 15 years of experience. Alicia Wrabek handles design, business, and client communication. We stay small on purpose — it's how we keep quality high and communication simple.

Working with us

What to expect.

Are you taking on new projects right now?

Our availability varies by season and current workload. Best way to find out: reach out. We'll be straight with you about our schedule and when we could realistically start.

What does the design visualization process look like?

For new builds and major additions, we offer design visualization so you can see the finished project before we start. It helps avoid surprises and ensures we're building exactly what you have in mind.

How do you handle communication during a project?

You'll have Tyler's direct number throughout. No call center, no middleman. If something comes up — a question, a decision, a delay — you'll hear from us directly and promptly.

How long does a typical project take?

It really depends on the scope of the project, but in most cases you can follow this general guidance. Roofing or siding: less than a week. Home addition: several weeks to a few months. Full custom build: typically 6–12 months depending on size and complexity. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront and stick to it as closely as Iowa weather allows.

How does the quoting process work?

Submit a quote request on our site or call us. We'll follow up to get project details, schedule a time to walk the property or review your plans, then send a written estimate. No cost, no obligation.

Our Services

What we build.

Can Timberbrook help with smaller repairs and carpentry?

Yes. We do general carpentry, trim work, and smaller repairs. We're selective about what we take on to keep our schedule manageable — but don't hesitate to ask. If we can't help, we'll point you somewhere that can.

Does Timberbrook focus on sustainable building?

Yes — it's a core part of how we build, not an add-on. We focus on building envelope optimization and efficient material use. Buildings account for 39% of US energy consumption. We take that seriously, and it shows in lower utility bills for homeowners.

Do you handle roofing and siding on its own?

Yes — roofing and siding are standalone services. You don't need to bundle them with a larger renovation. Request a quote and we'll come take a look.

Do you build fully custom homes, or do you work from plans?

Both. Timberbrook builds fully custom homes from the ground up, including design visualization before we break ground. We can also work from your existing plans or architect drawings.

What types of projects does Timberbrook take on?

Timberbrook handles new custom home builds, home additions, garage construction, roofing, siding, remodels, general carpentry, and trim work. If it's residential and in central Iowa, reach out — there's a good chance we can help.
